SOC 305 - Environmental Sociology (3 credits) Examine various schools of thought and theory on the relationship between society and the environment, such as Deep Ecology, Ecofeminism, Bioregionalism, as well as examine concepts such as environmental justice, ‘ecological self’ and a ‘sense of place.’ Topics that may be covered are population, land and resource use, industrial growth, community change, environmental values and environmental movements. Students will engage in community-based hands-on learning. As needed.
