Education Certification Program

Students holding a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four-year institution may take courses at Saint Francis University to receive their education certification, providing they have a cumulative QPA of 3.0 or above. The Graduate Education Department offers a program leading to certification in Secondary Education in the following content areas:

Social Studies:

The History, Secondary Education Certification provides students with an in-depth, well-rounded history education that will allow them to master the content needed to teach social studies in secondary education. Furthermore, students will take a full slate of education courses, to develop the teaching skills needed to communicate these concepts effectively. The secondary certification program prepares candidates for PA grades 7-12 certification.

Mathematics:

The Mathematics, Secondary Education Certification provides students with an in-depth, well-rounded math education that will allow them to master the content needed to teach math in secondary education. Furthermore, students will take a full slate of education courses, to develop the teaching skills needed to communicate these concepts effectively. The secondary certification program prepares candidates for PA grades 7-12 certification.

English:

Spanish:

The Spanish, Secondary Education Certification provides students with an in-depth, well-rounded Spanish education that will allow them to master the content needed to teach Spanish in elementary and secondary education. Furthermore, students will take a full slate of education courses, to develop the teaching skills needed to communicate these concepts effectively. The Spanish certification program prepares candidates for PA grades k-12 certification.
