World Languages Minor

Program Description:
A World Languages minor would be especially attractive to students who enjoy studying foreign languages. Students who have had four or five years of foreign language in high school often take the AP or CLEP exam, receive 9-12 credits through the 201 or 202 level, and then decide they would like to continue their foreign language experience. By having the option of a World Languages minor, instead of only a Spanish minor or a French Cultural Studies or Italian Cultural Studies minor, students might choose to take a second, and even a third, foreign language, all of which place a strong emphasis on culture and oral communication skills.

15 credits

Requirements: (15 credits)
Two languages at the 202 level:
American Sign Language (ASL), French, German, Italian, Spanish, or another Language (taken at another university, from an accredited study abroad program, or through the CLEP exam)
And:
- Any other language at 102/112 level or above
- Or LANG 103 - Language and Culture
- Or study abroad in any accredited program, such as Ireland or any CCSA program, Costa Rica, France, Italy, etc.
