Public Health Minor

Program Description:

The Public Health minor has five required classes totaling 15 credits. The minor provides students with fundamental knowledge and principles, applications, and skills needed to develop a solid understanding of population-level health and disease prevention. Combining this with another health science major provides special knowledge to transform the experience of their major education into innovative approaches for solving health problems, promoting health and wellness, and containing healthcare costs. 

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding and appreciation of how social determinants of health affect the population. 
  • Apply evidence based research skills to assess population health. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of health disparities within vulnerable populations.
