Program Description:
A Women’s Studies minor complements many different majors, such as nursing, physician assistant, social work, education, political science, and psychology. A Women’s Studies minor can help to customize the undergraduate experience, preparing students for various careers involving issues of diversity and social/political difference. The Women’s Studies minor consists of a total of 18 credits, 3 required credits and 15 elective credits, to be chosen from the SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and VALUES options listed below.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Through the SKILLS courses, students will learn the skills necessary for the consideration of women’s roles and positions in society.
- Through the KNOWLEDGE courses, students will gain a broader knowledge of the various foundational aspects of women’s roles and positions in society.
- Through the VALUES courses, students will learn to value the various contributions, roles, and positions of women in society.

Elective Courses:
Five courses chosen from the options below. Other courses may be approved with the program director’s approval (see Dr. Woods). - Credits must come from 3 different academic disciplines
- 9 credits must be at the 300 level or higher
- Chosen courses must cover each of the following categories: Skills, Knowledge, Values
- An internship or independent study is encouraged
