EDUC 231 - Child Growth and Development (3 credits) This course addresses physical, psychological, cognitive and affective human development from birth through age 8; emphasis is placed on pre-k to age 8. Included in this course is consideration of the development of the young ELL, children with disabilities and those children who come from diverse backgrounds. Health-related issues are discussed. Clinical experiences will be provided in Head Start, pre k classrooms, elementary schools and in high schools. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 101 . Students will complete four hours of field experience in an area school or educational setting. Required clearances will be needed to participate in field experiences.
