EDUC 431 - Early Childhood Methods I (6 credits) This course builds upon and refines competencies that relate to the teaching of Science and Mathematics prior to the Pre-K through 4th grade student teaching experience. The course focuses upon the theory, methods, and practices of teaching elementary math, science, physical education, and health in inclusive environments. Course work includes observation and teaching in local school districts in Pre-K through 4th grade. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Professional Phase. Fall. Students will be assigned fifteen hours of clinical experience in an area school or educational setting. Required clearances will be needed to participate in field experiences.
