MATH 308 - Partial Differential Equations (3 credits)
First-order PDEs. Canonical second-order linear PDEs (heat, wave, Laplace). Boundary and initial value problems, well-posed problems, and some common solution techniques, such as method of characteristics, separation of variables, Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problems, integral transforms and Green’s functions. Prerequisite(s): MATH 221 - Calculus III , MATH 306 - Ordinary Differential Equations I . As needed.
