This course is designed to help the students involved in the Franciscan Experience to deepen their Catholic faith by addressing the transcendentals, specifically Truth. The course will focus on truth as the goal of intellectual inquiry and mode of understanding reality. The Catholic faith will provide the framework through which students will grow in their experiential knowledge of truth in the areas of history, philosophy, theology, art, literature, and morality. Students will read the Church Fathers, Scholastic theologians, and contemporary discourse regarding beauty, goodness, truth, and unity. They will learn how to appreciate truth wherever it is found. FRAN 130/131, FRAN 230/231, and/or with instructor’s permission. Fall and Spring
