Program Description:
The ethics minor at Saint Francis University is focused on expanding and honing critical thinking skills so that you can read, write, and think with a critical eye to the world and self in relation to ethics and ethical problems. Our courses offer a comprehensive study of the major ethical theories, history of philosophy, with an emphasis on applied ethics.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the minor, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the major philosophical ethical theories and perspectives;
- Demonstrate clear and logical ethical reasoning with regard to contemporary ethical issues and problems;
- Demonstrate the ability to articulate in writing and speech the practice of good argumentation and philosophical debate with regard to contemporary ethical issues and problems.
