Program Description:

A Global Cultures and Languages minor would be especially attractive to students who enjoy studying foreign languages and cultures. If they have had four or five years of foreign language in high school, students often take the CLEP exam and receive 9-12 credits through the 201 or 202 level. Some then decide they would like to continue their foreign language experience, at the same time pursuing their interest in learning more about world cultures. They will then have the option of a Global Cultures and Languages minor, instead of only a Spanish, French Cultural Studies, Italian Cultural Studies, or World languages minor, and will have the opportunity to study not only another language, but also more cultures in an interdisciplinary manner through English, History, Religious Studies, and Sociology electives or study abroad.
