Program Description:
The Creative Writing minor cultivates students’ appreciation of and ability to compose creative texts in different genres (including, but not limited to, short fiction, poetry, plays, and novels) for a variety of audiences, purposes, and contexts.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students who complete the Creative Writing minor will be able to do the following:
- identify distinct characteristics of different creative genres;
- demonstrate their understanding of and ability to emulate and deviate from these characteristics in their creative compositions; and
- prepare, through meticulous revision, editing, and proofreading, such compositions for potential audiences and publication venues.
Total Credits Required:
15 credits

Requirements: (15 credits)
Fifteen credits from the following courses; at least three credits must come from courses at or above the 300 level, with no more than three credits from research/internship/independent study. |
