At Saint Francis University, we’re devoted to our mission of supporting students as they pursue the skills necessary to create a better, brighter world. With this goal in mind, we’re proud to offer the online Master of Medical Science (MMS) and Master of Health Science (MHS) programs.
The mission of the online (MMS) Program is to provide students in affiliated physician assistant programs the opportunity to obtain graduate education in an affordable, flexible, online format. The MMS Program partners with seven physician assistant certification programs throughout the United States to offer an opportunity for those students to earn a master’s degree while they complete their clinical affiliations. This option permits these graduates to be competitive with entry level master’s degree physician assistant practitioners. Consistent with the Franciscan tradition, the MMS Program encourages students to identify and address service needs, utilizing an evidence-based approach, while capitalizing on the student’s clinical competence. This unique strategy prepares graduates to creatively and effectively respond to complex practice issues, both now and in the future.
The MHS program is one of the longest-standing online health science degrees in the country. The curriculum explores the relevant ethical concerns, management challenges, and communication strategies that are a critical part of any healthcare leader’s skill-set. Each of the online health science degree’s practical, focused courses are shaped and taught by leaders in the field. Our faculty members are devoted to helping you succeed―not just as a student, but as a growing healthcare professional. The MHSc is designed to suit students from diverse career backgrounds and levels of comfort with online learning. A variety of professionals interested in pursuing new or expanded career paths can benefit from the program, including clinicians, educators, researchers, and technicians. As a student, you can choose to pursue specialty tracks in one of the three areas, building an expanded set of abilities to suit your professional goals.
